How SE Desk handles your data
SE Desk reads client email so you don't have to. That only works if the rules are strict and written down, so here they are.
The path an email takes
How SE Desk reads your own inbox, step by step.
- Step 1Gmail and CalendarRead only access you grant, and can remove
- Step 2SE Desk readsEach client's mail, cut down to their own words
- Step 3Claude proposesReads each client once, with no tools
- Step 4ChecksEvery quote must match a message that was read
- Step 5You approveIn Updates, one client at a time
The rules
- Read only, always
- SE Desk asks Google for read only access to Gmail and Calendar. It can't send, change or delete an email or an event.
- Nothing changes without you
- Tasks, criteria, contacts, stages and templates are proposals until you approve them. The one exception is meeting dates, which come straight from your calendar.
- Every finding is checked against the source
- A proposed task must point at a message SE Desk read, and its quote must appear in that message word for word. Anything else is thrown out before you see it.
- Email is information, not instructions
- Text inside a client's email can't tell SE Desk to do anything. Claude reads it with no tools and can only return proposals for the checks above.
- Your records are private to you
- Every record belongs to its owner, and the database itself enforces that, not just the app. Tests cover it.
- Tokens are encrypted
- The Google access token is stored encrypted. The app can see which address is connected, never the token.
- How far back it reads
- Tasks come only from the last 30 days of email, or 60 for a reply you still owe. Templates it offers come from emails you sent to clients in the last 90 days. Older mail, back to 180 days, only fills in each client's activity history.
- Templates keep your words
- A template is offered only for an email you sent at least 3 times to at least 2 clients. It must use your own words and name no client or person. The emails themselves are not stored.
- Disconnect any time
- Disconnect Google and its access is cancelled. SE Desk stops reading straight away.
